Default Turbo blanket / Heat wrapping

Ok so my turbo is about an inch away from my exhaust manifold. To reduce the temperatures under the hood I've recently bought a turbo blanket. However, when installed the turbo blanket touches the manifold. So I was wondering, if I heat wrap the manifold would that make everything ok? I'm just worried that the outside of the turbo blanket will melt or something if its left touching the bare metal of the manifold. Thoughts? Advice? Cheers

Might be best to see if your blanket has a designated external heat temp limit. I saw one that listed a contact and radiant temp rating. I, like you would be hesitant to let it touch, but it might be okay.

Sorry to wake up this old topic but I thought this might be relevant...

Rev Motoring makes a nice quality custom heat shield that seems to do the job.

As you can see, it covers both the turbo and the cat. conv. which are an obvious source of ambient heat in the eng. compartment. I also added a layer of DEI Reflect-a-Gold heat barrier to the inside of the heat shield and the underside of the air intake ducts. So far, it's made a BIG difference in keeping temps down. I can drive for over an hour in Summer temps and my intake ducts/airbox remain much cooler than before.
