Default 09 A4 rear brake pads question

I have an 09 A4 with 74,000 miles and need to replace the rear brakes and rotors. Now I know I "should" use the oem audi brakes but they are so pricey. If I put on good aftermarket brakes and pads will they squeal? I know audi makes thei products specific for their cars so I dont wanna spend 200 and then the pads squeal when new. Anyone have suggestions or have done anything in the past?

I put audi fronts on not long ago and parts cost me 350 and i did the lavbor myself. I am trying to save a few bucks this time.

Does it matter ceramic or metallic?

I've used Wagner Quiet Ceramic pads on the rears of our 2007 and they are both quiet and clean. No black brake dust which makes it easy to keep the wheels clean. They don't make any noise. As to rotors there are several aftermarket brands just the same as OEM. Take a look on Tirerack and see what they have to offer. You should also consider either renting or borrowing a screw in piston compressor for the rear calipers. Good luck.

I changed my discs to ZIMMERMANN and Hawk HPS for my front and back.
What an amazing difference.
1) NO BRAKE DUST
2) The initial bite isn't as strong as the oems but it's more of a linear brake while the oem don't brake as well after the initial bite.

Cost me to do Front and back installed around 850$. Dealer wanted 650$+tax for front alone!

Yea pads are only $80 but then each rotor is $120. I am looking for something a little cheaper. I need to do the rotors too because they are worn down and have a scratch on both rears causing squealing. Any links or suggestions to decent pads and rotors that any of you have used??

If you are looking for some low price good quality brake pads and rotor, I have found out a good place to buy them. I mostly prefer it for my car's repair.

You can get 2009 Audi A4 Brake Pads and 2009 Audi A4 Disc Brake Rotor for $17 and $20 respectively and that too from brands like Wagner, Centric, BeckArnely and ACDelco. Plus there is also a rebate offer going on for Wagner brake pads.
Aftermarket parts are a good choice if you want to save money and they won't trouble you as far as I know. I've been using them for many repairs on my car.
Hope this help you.

If you are buying a $17 brake rotor , they are probably made in China.

Do you want Chinese brakes? Just because it says wagner on the outside does not mean they are quality. You would be better off with Zimmerman , ATE or Pagid for you Euro car.
But wtf do i know!

The OEM rear pads are 65.00 dollars, and the rotors are 73.13 each. All in stock, plus shipping and that depends on zip code and the box size. Usually this is in the 22-30 dollar range. It is recommended that the 4 rear caliper carrier bolts should be replaced as well since those come out in order to replace the rotor. Those are about 10.00 for all 4 bolts. Not too bad for the OEM Audi parts. Any questions please ask us. Thanks, Jeff.
