This one has got me scratching my head. Maybe it's something simple, but a few searches have turned up nothing thus far.

I've got a 2011 A4 Premium Quattro with around 120K miles. Audi actually replaced my motor due to issues stemming from the oil consumption issue about 5K miles ago (yay!). For whatever reason, the car's AC just started acting finicky.

- When you first start the car, if the AC was left in the "on" position, it will often fail to start the AC. You need to drive a bit, and particularly make a right turn or two, for the AC to turn on.

- When turning left, the AC significantly weakens or shuts off entirely.

- The problem is the same with "AC" light on or off (i.e. no cooling).


What on earth is going on here?

 

So, while driving around in a tight parking lot the other day, I (embarrassingly) hopped a curb with the right front wheel.

The AC, which was off, immediately turned on, and has been much better (though not perfect) since. Still weakens when turning left, but hasn't outright shut off.

Bump for the strangest car issue I've ever had!
