Default B8 New Member Engine Q's

Hi guys, I am a new member from the UK, just purchased a 2008 B8 1.8T Auto which seems to be quite a rare car here.

I am having some engine issues and it's looking like I will need a rebuild or replacement engine but I am struggling to find any info on my engine.

I understand my engine code is CDHB, can anyone tell me how this relates to the other engine codes as I have seen other codes for this same engine, are they the same?

Which components are shared with other VAG 1.8TFSI engines i.e from the likes of the Passat or Seat Leon? do they share the same bottom end / pistons etc as I may need to source parts.

Any help much appreciated.

Afraid most folks on the site have either 2.0TFSI's, 3.2fsi's or Diesels. As far as the 1.8TFSI '07-12 (160hp/250nm) they were shared across the VW line with SEAT, Skoda, VW etc. Your engine has been replace for the 2012/2013 models with a 1.8TFSI 170hp engine from what I have read. Your engine whoever should be compatable with all VAG brands from 07-11 as far as internals though.
