I bought my 2017 A4 in PA with no front license plate but have now moved to MD where I need one. Bought the Audi front plate bracket kit from ECStuning for $150 (!!) and now need to figure out how to get the whole thing together.
1) how do I get the front plate filler out? (very tight clearances and no access from the engine compartment).
2) What screws do you use to attach the bracket to the car? (not included in bracket kit and no instructions of course)
3) Just use self-tapping screws to attach plate to bracket? Seems pretty crude bit there are no pre-drilled holes in the bracket.

 

Does your grill have removable inserts in the middle? They should be colored the same as the grill slats but they're flat. If so, remove them by carefully prying them out. Then you should be able to use generic self-tapping screws(in an appropriate size) to mount the bracket to the grill. And, no, Audi doesn't pre-drill the holes for mounting the plate. Just use your existing plate as a stencil, mark the hole spots and drill small pilot holes for generic self-tapping screws.
