1984 Audi 5000s Cold start/warmup problems
Hey group,
I finally had time to try to check the cold start problem with my 5000. It's very hard to start cold, and requires me to hold it at about 1500 RPM to help it warm up. I have the Bentley manual, but it's diagnosis procedure for checking the cold start/warmup systems is hard to follow.
I removed the cold start valve and cranked the car...nothing. I checked for current across it's wires...nothing. I removed the connector on the upper temp sensor on the thermostat housing and checked for current while cranking...nothing. What should I check next? The manual says to check the thermo-time switch, but I can't even find it. Thanks in advance for your advice...

check also for broken wires and the condition of the connections .. clening the terminals will not hurt at all
