1987 4000CS QUATTRO performance
I've looked, looked and looked some more, and the most I could find on this car, per performance, was a 5000 turbo engine swap which I found very little information on. I'm curious, what mods can you perform on the 4kcsq? Cut a few open holes in the air box to get more air but wouldn't be good for the summer cause a warm engine may = warm air for car = bad for performance.
I was looking at getting a new exhaust system for it but haven't found any, so I guess I'll have to go custom and make something work? I'm looking for a louder sound but nothing ricey. Definately going to go look at some suspension mods and see what works, any preferences?
Sort of a cry for help, as I can't find anything elsewhere [ ] thanks =) for any help!

RE: 1987 4000CS QUATTRO performance
www.blauparts.com has a sport head ... exaust will help ... as far as the turbo swap goes, it should be sort of simple .... the 5000 Turbo Quattro has a turbo ... both models use almost an identical motor one is turbo .. so it' only a question of adding some suff ... and a EFI (efi 043) fuel system would be a good addition

RE: 1987 4000CS QUATTRO performance
Has anyone made an article or a How-To on the motor swap?
If not, then what's a general idea of what to expect to add etc?
Cost estimation for just parts?

if you want to do a motor swap or a turbo conversion ... then either you need to get acquainted with the 5000 Turbo Quattro CS 86'-88' or buy one and you will have all the parts you need ... for the fuel system there is a web site ... just Google 034efi

It's not quite a drop in process, there are some clearance issues and you either have to cut body panels and or pound them out to make it fit. If you are serious about the swap you will need to study and compare the Robert Bentley manuasl for the 5000, 4000 and Quattro Coupe models. I have never seen any step by step procedure for the swap. Audiworld or Audifans might have more information.

RE: 1987 4000CS QUATTRO performance
Have done the same swap three times now, not too hard at all, but a better swap would be the 20v 5cyl I love that motor, and I dont use 034efi cuz J kinda screwed a close friend over by copying his design on some fule rail parts and under cut his business.... I personaly like megasquirt do a search on that and you will find tons of info
