Default Planning My First Audi, need some advice

Hey, I'm new here and am not familier with the board yet. If the post is in the wrong place, please move it.

I am planning on getting a 1990 Audi Coupe Quattro. AWD 5 cyl, 5-speed with lock-in rear diff., its pearl white with grey leather interior, its 1 of 1700 made.
I think this car has 165hp and I was planning to use it for rallying. I am not sure on how 165hp will hold up against thenewer cars such as the evos and wrxs, so I was curious on what options I have to do to help keep up. I am not familier with much of the car, I dont even know the engine name yet. Are there any reccomended swaps I can do, or should I just upgrade the turbo? I am shooting for about 300hp, maybe alittle less and I don't know how much this stock motor can handle.

In a stock form the 20V Coupe Quattro won't cut it against the EVO or the WRX. IMO it is not competitive like the predecessor was. To get 300hp you will need to drop in a 5-cyl "S" motor from a 92-94 S4 or stuff a 32V 4.2l or 3.6l V8. The V8 is supposed to bolt right up to the stock 5-sp Quattro transmission. I have seen pictures of this being done with the 90 models on other forums and web sites.

what about if too turbo charge the existing one, it wont get you the 300 but like 200 to 250.
or if you lower the compresion low enough, could go higher.
the 5 cyl could be a hasle, the V8 even more. You will have to move rad for it. on 5 cyl, and the V8 makes the wheight destrebution a wack, All in front is bad, really bad.
could probably get the newer I4 turbo, from A4
