ECU replacement 2006 a6
So after a month of research I'm even more confused on how to clone my ECU.
Just can't justify to have dealership replace my ecu >$2000.00 when i can source one for less than 100.00
I'm understanding they will program a blank one (no VIN), which are less expense, but I'm still at 700 for the ECU and 2HRS labor.
I have an exact replacement for my ECU 4f1 907 559A, SW 4f1 910 559F (The f seems to be less common)
I have also looked at ECU repair shops, ($250.00), but would really like to utilize replacement part I have purchased.
I'm not looking to do anything shady, just simply clone my existing ECU.
Does anybody know, what tool and process will allow me to do this?
Thank you
Peter
Looking at an ECU replacement for my 2006 A6.
The big question is the what generation of immobilizer I have.
How can I confirm this?
This recommendation for replacement is due to a P2404 code.
I have been through PV replacement, smoke test and VCDS pressure tests by my indy mechanic.
Thank you
Peter
