2001 A4 radio wont turn on
I just got a 2001 A4 and the radio wont turn on. I checked the fuse on the back of the radio and it's not blown. But, fuse #37 (20amp) in the fuse box blows every time I replace it. I have tried to put a 25 amp & a 30 amp fuse in but it has blown both.
Any info is appreciated. This is my first Audi!!!

Does the fuse blow immediately upon replacement or only after the radio is turned on? Is it known if the radio is good? Fuse 37 comes directly from the relay plate (live battery) so it's not switched. If the radio is a known good unit, then you have a direct short coming out of the fuse. Remove the radio (make sure you have your code) and inspect the wires (red/blue) for chaffing, breaks or any other indication that it could be shorting to ground. If the head unit is bad, replacements are available on ebay for a reasonable price (or you could go aftermarket). Whatever you do, don't replace the original rated fuse with a higher rating. If their is a problem with the wiring, the fuse may not be able to do it's job properly. Hope this helps.

Yes, the fuse blows as soon as I put it in. I took the radio out and all of the wires seem to be fine. I asked a guy at auto zone and he said its most likely a ground issue. I do not know if the radio is good, it was not working when I got the car.
Thanks for your help!!
