I'm in the Chicago area and just received a letter from T Mobile that they will be updating their service from 3G to 4G starting June 18. During the update, they said to expect slower speeds on the network. But what is alarming is that they also said I may be stuck with slower speeds from that point on unless the modem in the car is updated?
Anyone know any more about this? Does updating the modem require a software update, a hardware update, or both? Has this sort of thing happened before? Will Audi take care of whatever update is required?
Obviously, I have already prepaid for the T Mobile connection, so I want to come out of the other end of this thing in better shape than the current situation!

BTW, I did call my dealer; they knew nothing about this and said they would get back to me in a few days. Hopefully, they will have good news.

The dealer got back to me within days and said they would let me know as soon as they had the software update available for install. Got it done within a few weeks. System is still 3G, but I haven't noticed any slowdowns. Speeds seems to be as good or better than before.
Would have been nice to have the 4G connection, but no complaints.
