multiple problems
Hi guys
Anyone got an idea whats wrong with my Audi A3 2.0 litre 140
Recently on the motorway doing 70 mph and the coil light started flashing and i start to lose power going into limp mode, stopped the car restarted and everything ok,also my car frequently misses and jerks between 1st and 2nd gear, generally not running on full power, also engine radiator fan comes on while the engine is cold and i get a warning saying front fog light out when it is actually working, any ideas could it be engine management

Hi.
Sounds like the turbo is over boosting and the engine ecu is backing off the power to prevent any damage being done.
This is reset when the ignition is cycled allowing the vehicle to come out of limp mode, until the fault is detected again. Have the fault memory scanned to confirm.
The a3 suffers quite commonly from fan control unit problems, giving the symptom you describe, again you need a scan to confirm.
Take the bulb out and check it visually, if it's discoloured it could be partially blown causing the warning light to come on.

Cheers mate,i had a diagnostic check done on the car a few weeks ago but nothing showed up,also when the radiator fan is on i have noticed my revs are running on 900 during idle and 800 when the fan is not running, but with the slightly higher revs the car runs sweet as a nut, strange
