Default Passenger Side Brake Light Not Working

I have a 2005 Audi A4 1.8T.

Recently the passenger brake light is not working. I've changed the housing, checked the earth wire, changed the bulbs but still not working. All other lights are working. I wish to know whether the left and right brake lights have separate fuses? If so where is the fuse box for them. Also, I've ordered a new brake switch, but people tell me if one side is working then it's probably not the switch problem. Can anyone share their thoughts on this. I am in the US soit's a left hand drive car.

I have the same problem on my A4 ,checked everything, I have reduced it down to a problem with the hot wire, I can jump it off the left side, but this will not turn the warning light off.
