1994 Audi 100 airbag warning light
Hi all, airbag warning lamp just decided to raise it's ugly head a few days ago whilst driving ( I have the 2.6 V6 auto in the 1994 100 sedan )....won't go away. Excuse my ignorance, but in everyone's experience does this usually just need to be reset on the ECU like some sort of glitch...or does it usually mean some major malfunction that the stealership has to rectify ? car has 140,000km on the clock and no recent accident history, have checked the appropriate fuse.....ANY HINTS OR COMMENTS ??? thanks in advance.....Steve ( Sydney , Australia ). Hi again........problem solved.! .....had it scanned and reset by a guy with appropriate scanner.......only question not answered is WHY the light came on in the first place ? some guys have indicated that the AIRBAG WARNING LAMP can come on if the battery has been disconnected ! this seems strange.....although I did disconnect the battery for a few hours a couple of weeks ago. If this is the case, how do you avoid setting the airbag warning lamp everytime you need to take the battery offline temporarily ???? ANY IDEAS OR INPUT ??? THANKS....Steve.
