I have an 01 A6 2.8 30v with a bad motor. Will a VW 2.8 30v be a seamless transition? Or is there any real difference in VW's 2.8? Thanks.

 

The only thing that might be an issue is the ECU programming just might be a little different. But if it all plugs up, it might be fine. You might check the engine model code on each one and see if they are compatible. I'm not sure where you can confirm that information but a dealer might be able to confirm compatibility.
