I recently replaced my altenator with a rebuilt one. The old altenator worked fine, it was just making a loud grinding noise. Now when I'm stopped at a red light my 2001 Audi A8 just dies and will not start for about ten minutes. It seems as if something needs to cool down. The check engine light does not come on. Could this be the new altenator? Please help, pushing it off the road is killing me.
