Shake rattle and roll noises
Hi,
Wondering if anyone may be able to give me a little advice. Sorry for the long post, but these issues are driving me insane!
2004 A4 1.8T (190) Quattro. 67K
Issues:
Shake -
Car starts to shake/vibrate at around 80mph, I can feel it through the steering wheel, and also through my backside. Quite obvious to other people in the car too.
Rattle -
Exhaust seems to get loud and groany at approx 3000rpm in any gear when accelerating, car seems loud when in sixth gear crusing at 3000rpm, which im not sure if this is coincidental, but is also around the same time I get the shakey/vibration feel from above.
Roll -
When pulling out of a junction at either a tight right or left turn I get a rumbling noise from the car, it seems to be coming from the rear of the car, as though the rear wheels are sliding on the road and losing grip? Wasnt sure if this was a characteristic of the Quattro, but it seems very strange if it is! Noise seems to only be about 50% of the time.
My suspension generally also seems to be very floaty and bouncy, especially over bumps, and has a lot of body roll in hard corners. I know the car is a saloon and hasnt got sports suspension etc, but I was expecting more from the suspension set-up.
Thanks to anyone in advance for there help/views.
