2008 A6 Headlamp issues
I have the Audi A6 with headlight range control. The right Xenon bulb burned out so I took the car to the local dealer. They returned the car indicating that I will have to replace both complete headlamp assemblies. They showed and I can confirm that the wiring has deteriorated. The insulation on the wiring has cracked and is making contact with other cables shorting the headlamps, Headlight Range Control etc....
This vehicle is a European model not sold in the US. I have the VIN (WAUZZZ4F58N118414) and have been given the part numbers (left shows to be part # 4F0-941-029-AK and the right shows to be 4F0-941-030-AK) yet none of the OnLine Audi parts companies can sell us these headlamp assemblies since the car is a RHD can. I do not know what they mean by this. The steering wheel is on the Left of the vehicle and I drive on the right side of the road!!
Can anybody assist me in determining how to resolve this requirement? I cannot drive at night....Bummmerrrr.

Are you sure the VIN is correct? You obviously have a LHD car. Only thing would be if it has been converted from RHD to LHD at some point. It's a lot of work but if done right there's not much to see visually to indicate anything was changed. It requires swapping the instrument panel, HVAC assy, steering rack, wire harness and a few other misc items.Check the firewall/cowl to see if a steering column opening is blocked on the right side. Just an idea. Wonder if the RHD and LHD headlamps are physically the same. I mean, are they the same shape and mount the same?

Headlamp Assemblies
Okay. I re-checked the VIN; there was a discrepancy. The last number should be "3" in lieu of 4. So this was a mistake on the initial string comment. But this was the VIN# used for requesting the headlamp assemblies. The VIN (to insure this is clear) is WAUZZZ4F58N118413
I am attaching two photographs in order to compliment the requirement.
It is obviously a LH drive car and has had no modifications to the auto. It is a second hand with local Audi rep. clean records.
