A4 Oil Level - Temp Sensor Torque
Does anyone have the torque spec for the 3 bolts that hold the sensor to the oil pan?
Details:
I took out the sensor to dig out broken plastic from the dipstick funnel. I put it back in and there was a leak.
I bought a new sealing gasket at the dealer. The parts guy said to use some tack seal to make sure it stays tight and to let the seal cure.
But, I don't have a torque setting for the 3 bolts. It is probably "light" as the pan is aluminum. I also probably was too tight on the first replacement.
Right now, it is at about 18 ft/lbs. while it cures. But if anyone knows I would like the actual spec. N/m's are fine, I have both scales on my torque wrench.
Thanks,
John

An update - A asked the dealer parts guy and he said their mechanics would just snug it up, not too tight. If there was a leak, they would add 4 ft.lbs.
Anyway, two days later, there is no leak!
