Lower radiator hose leak need help! 2001 Audi a4
Just flushed my coolant took radiator hose off before hand. Put it back on no problems. Filled her up again, and later that night noticed a puddle on the ground. Looked at it and smelled it was coolant, jacked my car back up and noticed it is coming from the stupid small flange looking thing. So I was trying to find another thread about it and I think I did. Is the hose suppose to snap on the radiator or be able to hear a distinct click or some sort? Also with the flange looking thing, is there a correct way to put it on? Do I put it on before I put the hose on the radiator? After? Does the flange make a noise also? Also I heard their being some sort of o-ring in the radiator hose also? Sorry for all these questions just is really erritating me. Also tried pressing the hose on the radiator as hard as I could and tried to put the flange on while pressing on it worked for a little but started again. Thanks for the help hope to hear from you soon!!!

Lower Radiator hose
Hey Brautty:
I see you took care of the problem before anyone replied. Congrats. Your posting came up when I did a search of lower radiator hose replacement Audi A4. I picked up a 2003 A4 1.8 Turbo in August and just got a $1200+ estimate at the dealer for flange, ECT and lower radiator repair. I had noticed some small leaking of coolant. Outside of the lower rad hose, the other parts cost about $50??? SO... I am going to roll up my sleeves and get dirty like the old days.
My question to you is, did you replace the lower radiator hose? If so, how long did it take and on a 1-10 level, how difficult was it? I have some skills but wouldn't say I am anywhere near mechanic level. I have replaced things years ago on my old Mustang but have been made lazy by warranty work during the mid 2000s. Your help is appreciated. If you know a DIY link showing the job, that would be great too. Thanks
