Default Stereo wiring Question

My hubby wanted me to post this question for him.....The wiring to the stereo (Plug) was cut off when they installed a CD player...but when we bought the car(1993 100S) it didn't come with it. So we tried to hook up a stereo(CD ) on our won...We wired constant power to the battery...and power from the fuse panel...hooked up the ground and we got no pwer to the stereo (Yes we turned the ignition key)..it wouldn't turn on...are we doing something wrong?

get a multi-meter, if you don't already have one. Check that power powers, that the fusible power powers with the ignition on, and, check that the ground -zeros-.

yeah, if he can't get a zero (or, 0.0-something) to ground teh "circuit" won't complete.
