Default Gauge cluster

Anyone remove the gauge cluster without taking the whole dash apart? I looked thru my manual and all I was able to find was complete removal. Nothing with just the cluster removal. Need to have the led unit replaced. Also why did Audi use a oil temp gauge instead of a oil pressure gauge? This is on a A4 B5 thanks for any help.

Pull off the top collar piece on the column where it emerges from the dash. That exposes two screws. Take them out and pop the cluster out. Pull out the left side first, pivoting it so you can reach in and unplug the harnessss. Then just pull it out.
