First time Audi owner
Just saying hi, not knowed up on how to use the site yet, or familiar with Audis. I've always done my own simpler auto mechanic work. Just retired from working as an electronic tech/mechanic on Postal Service mail handling machines; many made in Germany, some not so maintenance-friendly. Have worked a lot in HVAC, some German boilers included (which are maint friendly). Looks like Audis are fairly in line with the German maintenance philosophy: remove a bunch of stuff to make a job easier, and modular components. Guess I'll find out. This looks like the best Audi site on the 'net.
I recently bought a 2001 A6 Quattro 2.7T Auto Transmission with 118,400 miles on it.
Super nice shape, great maintenance records. I couldn't pass it up for $1,750.00 US$.
$800.00 worth of 225/45/17 Pirelli Cinturato All Seasons and new $350.00 headlight assemblies, and I'm pretty much up to Kelly Blue book value. Oh well, it's a sweet ride; stable! Guess I'll need to get the Bentley Repair Manual and vag-tech code reader if I'm going to work on it myself.
