how much can it handle?
does anyone know here what a safe amount of hp that my 2.8 v6 30v audi a4 can handle. im thinking about making a custom turbo kit for it but im not sure if my engine would be able to handle it. im thinking either a stock k03, or possible a k04. if i dont turbo it i am probably gonna go with the pes g2 supercharger, and recommendations or warnings?

I think i can help out a little here. I have been thinking about getting the PES G2 kit for a while now and i am saving up for it right now. I have been hanging around scaudi.com for a while now and it has given me alot of great info, so i dont think im really talkin outa my *** here. Let me rattle off a few things so you dont have to search on scaudi.com
The stock 2.8L 30V Engine was not designed for forced induction, so the pistons are very weak and can NOT handel anything more than 12PSI...a respected senior member on scaudi blew his PES G1 Intercooled 2.8L by melting a piston @12PSI ... he was making 237whp at the time.
The stock 2.8L 30V will take about 300bhp no matter what you throw at it. Anything more and your engine is toast.
The PES G2 kit can not be intercooled...so whatever extra heat you create with a smaller SC pulley cant be simply cooled down. I know water/meth injection works to some extent thow.
Right now, that same respected scaudi member call sign 4Rings is rebuilding his 2.8 with a 4 bolt main, new pistons, rods and a bigger
1.6L Supercharger. He is waiting for his new engine to break in before SC assembly. you can watch his progress on scaudi.com with like a zillion other people. if everything works out this supercharged 2.8L will be insane.
Turbo on the 2.8 is silly because it will most likley have to be rear mounted (more work) and basicly you can not push the boost past what the PES G2 kit w/ smaller pulley would give you because again you will toast your engine.
The way to go with the 2.8 the way i see it is go supercharger and wait to see what the process will be for beef'in up the bottom end for more power. No joke...by the time you turbo the 2.8 you will get the same power from the PES kit or you coulda just bought a friggin RS4 already.
To sum it up, go to scaudi.com, there the site with the info on pushing decent 2.8L 30V V6 power.

just do a 2.7TT swap. or an LS1. or an SR20. or a rotary. the 2.8 is a turd of a motor. from what my schoolbooks say, the 2.8 and 2.7 are quite similar. that being said, it's still a turd. just sell it and look for a 2.7T.
