Oil on a3 tdi intercooler

Hi! Just got a 2002 a3 1.9 tdi quattro. Been havin a nose around da engine and spotted oil on outsite of intercooler. Have not noticed any pools of oil on floor, or engine consumin oil, so dont think its leaking. But not sure were oil can be commin from. Any one know wot could be causin it?
