Default V8 4.2 throttle body on V6 30v??

Hi, Has anyone here tried a throttle body from A8 or A6 4.2 on 2.8 30v (drive by wire) engine yet?
Is it possible? I wanna try a larger throttle body if it makes better performance.

I think i remember some one doing a TB port and polish on a Ko3 1.8T and they got i decent amount of throttle response. They also noticed that...ok hard to explain...say the power given at 75% throttle only took like 50% throttle. know what i meen. i know getting a bigger TB for the 2.8 would deff help with throttle response alot, maby not create any more power but it would help the crapy power curve of our engine. im gonna guess that the A8 TB will not fit because the A8 has a MUCH bigger engine and intake mani there for the bolt pattern on the A8 TB will be much bigger that the 2.8's.

Thanks for the advise. Mounting a bigger TB is what I'm happy to try lol
but the only doupt for me is whether the throttle position sensor from A8 can communicate with V6 30v ECU or not??? I've never seen the shape of 4.2 TPS connector, not sure it is the same as V6 30v or not?
I'll ask the technical guy at my local dealer for that ASAP.
If my idea of swapping 4.2 TB won't work, I'll see what I can do about TB port & polish.

I have heard that the intake spacers from vast help alot with the 2.8s power curve. I am ordering them for mine!

whats the deal with those spacers? are they the ones that funnel the air into the TB? or is it something different.

No, they are 10mm thick spacers that go underneath the intake manifold, between it and the heads. On the web site they only list 2.7t but i know a guy with them on his a4 avant 2.8 and he says of all his mods, this made the biggest difference

Take care, Matt.

I thought i remember seeing this write-up: http://www.audiworld.com/tech/eng13.shtml

Not sure if it's worth it for that mod, but i can definitely see how you might get better response, and possibly, a little better power curve.

It "should" be here within the next 2 weeks. The guy i'm buying it from still has to remove the pulley from his car and label everything for me before he ships. I'm looking to have it installed (hopefully) before H20i this year. I check out scaudi.com all the time, in fact, that's where i found the G1.

Good luck to you as well - used G1s are rare, but they're out there. I'm sure you'll find something within reason, whether it be a G1 or G2.

I'll post up once i finally get it installed.
