They aren't that skinny but compared to american rocky tyres they are i suppose. You're right, much better, you can normally cut through the mud to the hard ground underneath with a thinner tyre rather than floating on the top of it.
I've notcied alot of you guys over the pond do it on rock, i'm guessing thats due to the type of climate ie dry. Mainly mudding over here in UK, nothing beats a bit of mud!

you only want an auto tranny if you want to burn it up.....auto trannys are garbage...manual is where its at......i dont have pictures of my setup..but its a chevy 350 with a 400 crankshaft....running it into a SM465 4 speed manual, linked to a NP203 transfer case, adapted into a Np205 with 5.13 gears.....now thats crawl ratio...i can get out with my rig in first and low in both transfer cases..and walk faster than it will crawl..

Most of our off roading publicity comes from the desert regions because it's a "sexier" photo shoot.
