Default Depo headlights

I have a 2001 A6, 4.2L. Been looking at the Depo headlights. Cheaper than OEM and a little different. Can not seem to find if these will fit my car. I keep reading they will fit A6, S6, and RS6 but not the 4.2. This does not make much sense to me since the RS6 and the 4.2 have the same body for the most part.

Has anyone used these lights on a 4.2 or perhaps known someone who has? Thanks for the response in advance.

If you have an A6 within the year range, then you have an A6 within the year range. Feel free to correct me, but the headlights should fit no matter what the engine size. When it comes to body components like headlights, it's the body style that matters; not the engine size.

Could be something like we have here with the facelift vs non-facelift cars. The facelift lights can easily fit but you have to grind the fenders a little. If there's something like that on the A6 (and I don't know if there is) they'll likely advertise that they don't fit, so no one buys them and then finds out that they have to take a grinding wheel to their body panels.
