Default Help me out here

Hey everyone,

So I live in DC, my mom lives back home in Erie, PA. She drives an '04 Mazda Tribute AWD that recently had a swaybar link and intermediate driveshaft U-joint replaced. This morning she was complaining of "yellow" fluid leaking from "the front of the car in between the wheels". Thats the best description i could get out of her lol. Not being there to diagnose the problem myself, any ideas as to what she might be talking about? I'm trying to rule stuff out so when she takes it to a mechanic they won't screw her over. ATF is red, PS fluid is red, coolant is green..... what else?

The NEON Green coolant can look "yellow" against asphalt, especially with old eyes. I'd go with that, and diagnose from there. Help her find and check teh overflow tank.

^ I was gonna say the same thing.

The only yellow fluid I can think of is probably the brake fluid.

^ Ditto but brake fluid is more of a gold color and may look a little like oil against asphalt. So I'd go with coolant. Ask her if her brakes feel spongy or if her temp gauge is nearing or over the half-way mark.

Thanks guys, I'll talk to her again later and see what i can come up with. The combination of my lack of familiarity with her car and her lack of knowledge of cars in general is going to make doing this over the phone torturous lol
