Default limp mode, starting problem.

i know i need vagcom but if im selling my car i dont see the point in buying one. with that out of the way... yesterday i ran to the store to get some butter and i get in my car, turn the key, and the engine doesnt turn at all. all the electronics turn on, fan, radio, ect. but it did the same thing as if you dont push the clutch in when you turn the key...i tried it for a few minutes and still nothing, then i turned the key and held it. then a few seconds later still holding the key the car started with no problems and no problems since. now today im merging onto the freeway and feel like punching it and its slow and boost gauge only reads 5psi. i just replaced both egt sensors 9 months ago and both primary o2 sensors within the last 6. no check engine lights. it was raining all day yesterday which made me think water issues but i live in oregon so i have rain like almost everyday in the winter. any input? i've put about 1000 miles on my car in the last week being on vacation but i had the mechanic inspect the car 2 days ago and said everything checked out okay. he never hooked it up to a computer or anything it was just visual. anything helps
