I had to replace my coilpacks at 189k after one failed and caused a flashing CEL. Fortunately there was a TSB and the dealer did it for free. So while I had a failure, I cannot say they were unreliable given the miles. Currently at 206k.

Default 2004 audi s4 v8 4.2

ok guys i need some help here
my 2004 audi s4 v8 has had the check engine light on sence day one i have taken it back to the dealer about 7-8 times im not sure what to say about this
what has been done to it
coils done covered
cats were done and checked over also covered
those are the big emissions the car is coming up 100,000 miles i need some one to help me out with this its pissing me off completely and i havent even had the car for a week with no lights on in it wtf.....

you need to scan your car to find out what code/s are being thrown to cause your check engine light. dealerships and most repair shops and parts store can do this. pep boys, autozone, etc.

Took the car back they told me that it was an o2 sensor on the cat it's going off cuz the cats need time to break in I was told ?
