Hey everyone im new to the Audi family. I was just wondering if you guys could help me. My friend is going to sell me his 2001 S4 for $11,000 and it only has 70,000 miles with a short throw. I was just curious to if this was a good deal and what are the pro's and Con's of the S4's. I'v never owned an Audi i'v been driving honda's and acura's mostly but everytime he lets me drive it i dont want to get out of the driver seat! so if you guys could help me out i would greatly appreciat it! Being that he is your friend I find it hard to believe that he would sell you a problem car... but $11,000 for 70k miles is a steal.

I finally purchased the nicest 2000 with 87k miles for $11,500. This also happened to be the best looking one that I came across ina little over two months of searching. Most of the cars I was looking at were between 13 to 15 grand, and many are asking more to almost 20 grand.

Short Story... I would say buy it, but I hope he doesn't regret selling it too cheap. I sold an old vw beetle to a friend cause I thought it would cost about 1500 to get the motor running and it only cost him 250. Pisses me off to this day that I sold the car so cheap, could F... up your friendship. The point is... I don't buy or sell anything from/to friends anymore.

i agree, 11K is a steal. I just bought mine a couple days ago for 12.5K with 89K miles w/ the turbos being replaced 10k miles ago. Do you know if the turbos have been replaced or if the timing belt has been changed. I would address those questions definetly before you buy it.

 

Read the FAQ for trouble spots on the S4. $11k is a steal! It's worth every penny.
