I've got the APR 93 chip, and the only other mods are an aluminum flywheel and turboback exhaust, and my gauge tells me i'm doin 17 pounds of boost. I can only hit 17 in third, its around 16 in second. if you havent bought a chip yet i'd go with apr over giac. My friend had a giac and it fried his wholes system for a 3500 dollar repair. Apr is very reliable. Hope this helps

Is the consensus APR>GIAC becausethe higher boost levels would kill off the turbos?

the consensus is different from every person you ask...lol.

I personally say mtm, because it is the smoothest and highest low end torque.

Hmm, so, I wonder if something is wrong with my car, I bought it used with a GIAC chip, and Tip chip, My car peaks to 15-16, then settles to around 12, slowly falling to 10 at redline. The whole time the needle is shaking from 1-2 degrees. I can take video if you'd like. I am really curious if it is a boost gauge problem, boost leak, or something else.

Thoughts?

Maybe you have a wastegate problem, or could be a faulty sensor?

what sensor would most likely be the culprit?

The turbos and engine are about 9000 miles old.

While it's possible that the wastegate is indeed bad, its doubtful as they are brand new.

I need to do a boost leak test....is there a how-to to build one specifically for the s4? I went to go get the parts to build one but I wasn't surevof the proper diameter of the PVC attatchements I needed.

Yes 2k, Request and actual matched I have an APR chip from ECS with everything all programs and thottle body alignment, anti-theft, fault code erase. ...around $888.00 I believe it was.

I also have B2 S2 sensor down.

What should I do about this?

After replaced my diverted valve 710B for 710N and boost is still the same 7~8psi, also check the TBB and there is no leak at all. I just wasted $80 for nothing, so the old valves is still good, are you guy sure stock boost is 10~12psi?
