Suspension noise
I just bought an '05 S4. Love the car but there is a very annoying clanking sound as i go over large bumps. Sounds to be coming from some part of the suspension. Don't know if it was modified by previous owner but the car was "certified" by my Audi dealer where I bought it. Anyway, just wondering if this is normal for this "sport" suspension or should I take the car into the dealer? BTW, new orleans roads are Very, very bumpy....

RE: Suspension noise
I had an A6 and experienced suspension issues about once a year. The CV boots (?) were the issue last time, and caused a lot of shimmying at high speeds. I'm hoping the S4 has better suspension components, so I'll be interested to hear what comes of your problem. Definitely take it into the deal and hopefully "certified" means some type of warranty.

RE: Suspension noise
ok, so i promised to keep you guys updated on this. The dealer told me that there is a "problem" with my strut/spring assembly on the front suspension on both sides. They are replacing the front suspension on both sides. This is very frustrating. Why would a car with only 18k miles have this problem. My mother's BMW 530 has 115k miles and no such problems. My old '88 Supra had over 100k miles with no such problem. I'm terribly vexed in the words of Ceaser..haha. All jokes aside, this really sucks being as i dropped a nice load of cash to buy this car.
