Default Tail light replacement

I need to replace the tail light bulb on the left side of the car. Does anyone have the replacement bulb part number? Is this a part I can get from a generic auto part store like Auto Zone (I freaking hope so). Lastly, how hard is it to get into the assembly and replace the bulb? Tips or pointers for DIY? Thanks.

Im pretty sure its a common bulb, just go into where ever and use the book to look up the number. Also i dont remember if you have to take the light assembly out or not but just go look at it its fairly simple shouldnt take to long and the only tool you might need would be a small maybe 10mm socket i think and thats only if you have to take the whole assembly out.

^^pretty much. One bolt holds it in place. The whole process should take 5 minutes.

Found the bulbs at the local parts store.

So the whole assembly needs to come out then?

I had the same problem where the one light was going out intermittently and I went to the local advanced auto. They have a part number for the light but the silvania bulbs had two prongs on the back instead of the one like the original. It wont fit in the slot if it has the two nubs on the back.

What did you end up doing?

I took the assembly out and changed out the bulb (it has two nubs for connectors) but it didn't fix the problem. I checked the fuse and its good to go, plus the drivers side sidemarker still works. I have no idea what the problem is. The connector at the rear seemed in good shape. All the lights work except the tail light on the drivers side. The brake light, reverse light and rear fog all work fine.Need help ASAP so this thing can pass inspection!Any suggestions?

I ended up taking it into a local shop where I live to have it checked out. The car has a small oil leak going on that I wanted to get looked at as well, plus I need an inspection to get the title transfered. Figured I'd just kill a few birds with one stone...wonder how much this is going to cost me...already after only owning the car for 4 days...[:@]
