What's going on with my s4?
Ok the problem is that I don't feel like my car is pulling as hard as it should be. It's a 2001.5 s4 with the GIAC 93 oct flash, meaning it should have 300+hp. However, my friend with a BMW 323Ci (which is only a 2.5 n/a 6cylinder and puts out like 180hp) was behind me today and when I tried to pull off he was able to stay behind me from 40 to 80 drifting back slowly. Granted his is manual and mine is tip but still shouldn't my car be blowing his out of the water?? Why is mine only a little faster? Am I going crazy or what?
p.s. when I start my car it makes the dentist drill noise I have no idea what this means but I have heard of it and this noise has to be it
Additional details:
140,xxx miles on my car
he has roughly 195lb-ft of torque
Any input appreciated!

Damn! That's what I was afraid of. Anybody know what it will cost for new k03's including installation? I already owe my parents like $1000+ for a broken oil pan and other misc repairs/service so k04's are out of the question for now.
Just wondering though, how much more expensive is it to replace with k04's including any bare minimum supporting mods?

i would just save for the k04s labor is somewhere between 1700-2500 depending on how rusted things are in your car. I need my turbos replaced as well and my michanic just did turbos on an s4 and the labor was 19xx.xx. If your gonna go through all the work to have them replace just got k04

Do the work yourself!
Unless you aren't mechanically inclined. I heard its not too hard taking the engine out. Just time consuming. (Depending on how hard you define hard I guess). I didn't really think changing timing belt and all that jazz was too hard.
BTW, I love your color.

Thanks drobrt but i'm definitely not inclined enough to do that nor do I have the equipment haha. Is that $19xx.xx the labor for k04's only or would it be the same for k03's? Cause thats an extreme cost. Also, what would be the consequences of not fixing them, just poor performance?
