I love Sex and Drugs, but Rock and Roll is not really my thing.
On another subject....
I was at the track last weekend to get an idea of what kinda times I'd pull down in the 1/4. I was a little disappointed as my best was a 15 even. First time out, so I really can't complain. Anyway, I think I must have broken something because I now have a nasty noise coming from the rear-end....
'03 1.8tQ, sound comes from the rear at slow speeds (must be there at higher speeds as well, but can't hear over my exhaust {APR}), regardless if I'm in gear or not if I'm rolling (up, down, flat) I get a 'knocking' sound from the back. I can reproduce this noise when I'm barley moving, and it’s rotational (I go faster, it goes faster, slower, slower)... so I figure it can't be the stabilizer links, or anything to do with suspension. I was kind of thinking wheel bearing, or perhaps (god forbid) some kind of diff problem. It is intermittent, has been getting worse all week, but doesn’t seem to affect anything other than my piece of mind.
If anyone can shed some light on this I would be very thankful.

15s even in the quarter mile is great for a car that just has exhaust. But I agree w/ sandman its hard to tell without hearing it personally. Maybe if you said you can re create it barly moving you should have someone standing next to the car and maybe they can get closer to the problem.
