I saw some two sided tape as well as the clips on mine, so maybe the previous owner had the fix done.
I'm not sure how I missed your attached picture. But after looking at it, I can tell you that the entire strip will need to be replaced. From what I've been told, the instructions for the repair are incorrect and twice as much tape should be applied to hold the strips down. Sounds likely that the previous owner had the work done. Hopefully, you can take it back to the same place that did the original work. If not, Audi will charge you for the repair. Keep us updated.
