Default Brake Light Switch

Anyone know how to change the brake light switch out? Got home tonight and the brake lights wouldn't shut off. i climbed under there with a flash light and messed with it a bit and it shut off temporarily.... I cant get my head under there far enough to see it. Guess I could get a mirror....

removing the lower dash is a good start

never removed that switch but had the lower part off plenty of times. everything is easy access like that. Even your girlfriend!

I did mine a few months ago. the part is only $3 from the VW dealer. Easy to replace once you get the crud out of hte way. Quarter turn and pop it out. The new one is a different design and does not need to be "prepped" like the original either. Exact same conditions as yours, so I disconnected the battery - be sure you know your audio code
