Default side door trim 4.2L

Anyone know how to take off the lower door trim on a c4 4.2L? The two screws that are visible are rusting and once they are off its still on there solid. Do i have to remove the door panel?

JC is right, the trims are designed to be slid and pulled, but their metal clips rust over time inside the door card.
You neeed somehow to try to gently pry after you slide them (toward the rear of the car), but with something that won't scratch or damage your paint.

I wanted to paint mine and I could not remove them. I gave up and painted them on the car, anyway. You can also remove the door card and push'em from inside, but that would be a bunch of work

Thanks guys. Sounds like its going to be a PITA. The reason I want to remove them is because something under them is rusting. Prolly the clips as you mentioned. And it leaks rust onto the paint. Mr. Clean eraser takes the rust right out and you cant tell its there, but it doesnt solve the problem. Ill try to soak it in penetrating lube for a while before I attempt it.

Slide towards the rear of the car and it will come right off.
