Default Audi A3 Air Conditioner

Hi all,

I took my car in because the AC went out on me and I was quoted about $1000 to have my compressor replaced, this seems high has anyone had to do the same fix? Can't beleive it would go out so quickly only have 60k on my car. Any help would be appreciated...thanks!

That was what mine cost, fortuantly under warranty. My Silverado went out at 100k and it cost over $800 so it seems reasonble for a German car. btw it's more than just the compressor, usually these things throw broken bits thru the whole system. I think also the front valance comes off as well.

I noticed my AC was just blowing air so I took it in to a Audi Mechanic I found via word of mouth and he was honest enough to tell me to go to the dealer. I'm not a fan of dealers so I took it and it was still valid under warranty. They had to replace the pressure switch, anyone know how much that would have cost out of pocket?
