Lol, looks almost like mine! Now you need to do the billiard ball shifter mod. And you could always use a 3ball so you can keep the red and black theme. My 8ball turned out pretty good.

man, i love those carbon leg frames (or whatever you call them!).. how did you get coat your shift ring ?
I think I might be looking into the A3 vent mod or to get someone to powdercoat the rings.. they came out nice, but not amazing like a good powdercoat would do.

Yeah, I like the C-frames to. I bought them used from the Tex. My shift ring is painted with PPG black and a couple coats of clear. If I had to do it again, I would powder coat it. The paint came out perfect, but I'm sure it's nowhere near durable enough. Also, removal of the bolts on the shift ring can be kinda tricky since there is less clearence between the paint and the bolt(easy to screw up the paint). As far as the A3 vents, I love em! As you can see in the pics, they match the metal trim much better than the big bulky metal stockers. I'm sure you can find someone in the A3 section that would be willing to trade(that's what I did). And IMO, the stock vents wouldn't look very good P-coated(too much of a contrast of the interior colors).
If your comfortable doing the drilling/tapping, go to a billiard supply place and buy yourself a billiard ball. But you have to get one that's "phenolic resin". They are damn near indestructable! And you will never have to worry about it losing it's glossy shine. It will probably last longer than your car. The only tools you'll need is a drill press, tap and dye kit, and a belt sander(to flatten out a spot on the top for your 6spd pattern to fit).

Don't rule out anodizing for coloring the shift ring. Ano is the factory coating, but 'natural' aka clear.

Agreed. I was contemplating anodizing my shift ring. But I was too lazy to go through the DIY anodizing process. Might still do it tho. And do my interior aluminum handles at the same time. I need to find a good DIY on ano.

http://www.greatlakesmetalfinishing.com/

get a quote on your stuff, just to see how it compares to putting together the stuff you'd need to DIY. These guys advertise small lot orders, and 24-48hr turnaround.

I doubt I would send them out to get em done. I would feel much better about doing it myself. Any $ spent toward a DIY, would more than pay for itself with the knowledge gained.
