My buddy has the APR downpipe with his stock cat and it sounds good. The only thing is that it is illegal and if you get smog checked your screwed so keep that in mind. But if you don't care about that it sounds good and its a cheap good buy

So the feeling is that that the stock cat back is pretty well tuned { low end torque and acoustic stealth perspective } .
Curious if anybody has just installed just the downpipe only from AWE? I want to keep smog legal as I use this as a daily driver - but I'd like to get a bit more out of the system overall.
Also - in checking out AWE's Downpipes - they offer the standard ceramic converter and a 'higher performance' metal converter that claims and addition +9 bhp.
The metal converter gives a slightly louder sound and a little better performance. If your willing to spend the extra for the metal id do that but if you have to settle for the ceremic its not a bad option.

so does that mean... downpipe = voided warranty?
i know this depends on the dealer... but its certainly much worse than the intake huh?
I'm getting the security lock-out installed for my APR chip so i hope the chip would be invisible...

Well im not sure what the dealer thinks about the downpipes but if you get the APR downpipe its just flat out illegal. Make sure you get the security lockout 100% figured out before your plan to take your car in just to make sure its undetectable.

I just put the greddy on and I love it.
got it cheap too, paid less than $500 for it.
sounds perfect.
I told myself I was done after chipping, intake and exhaust,
but now I cant stop thinking about what a downpipe would do for me.
Come to Jet's for poker on Saturday and you can hear how it sounds. I have the GReddy catback and the APR DP. It sounds good, but very loud. Although, the car is a freakin rocket with everything so I can't give it up. LOL
