Th eonly reason one would want the 2.0T -when no money is no object - is to have a MT, bucket seats with cloth, FWD only and better mileage... I could also count the reasons why a 3.2 over a 2.0T but the list is a little longer than I care to write at this moment.

P: No, Brian, it's a foreign car, the "T" is silent. Sweet, I'm getting an Audi!
What would you choose, a decked out A3 3.2 or 2.0T and why?
Ultimately I would go with a 2.0T because of the performance versus economy. The broad torque range of 1800 to 5000 RPM makes driving a 2.0T effortless with no turbo lag. With 2008 models you can now get a s-line with powered drivers seat for 2.0T models. Sure there are a lot of us that would also like to see a 2.0T Quattro, but if you drive in a area that doesn't get much winter weather then so what!

Hi JohnS1
Definitely quattro has its advantages in a winter scheme but negotiating hard turns, I would take a quattro any day. No snow here in Florida, but with the rain we get and the state of the roads, my vote is still on the quattro.

Well...money is ALWAYS a consideration, so let's not lie to ourselves. BUT, I could easily afford either car and I went with the 2.0T. The only regret in my decision is the Quattro, but change cars, and I would have a bunch more regrets with the 3.2. The engine is SO much better that it makes a world of driving difference. If you are the kind of person that will never mod a car, and always keep things stock, then the 3.2 might be the better way to go. I know myself better than that, so it's 2.0T all the way!
Very true Chef, if money was not the case you would have left us lowly A3 people for the S4... Traitor at heart...

Hi Oliver.
True you guys in Florida get some god awful weather some parts of the year that Quattro would be most helpful. Here in California we only have to worry about a few earthquakes and Chef driving too fast in his S4!

Actually, if "no money is no object" [sm=smiley8.gif](uber double negative there. ), 3.2 would be the way to go even if you want to mod it... Put a HPA FT400 ($12,999) or FT450 in it, and it will blow past any 2.0T, or even the S3.
But then again, it really depends on what you are looking for. Speed might not be the prime factor of choosing a car.
Would love to be able to say "no money is no object"... wait a sec... [sm=icon_quiet.gif]
