What kind of oil to use?

This week, I had my first oil change at the dealers. I was at 4200mi and probably pretty close to 75%. I suggest getting the change. After all the first oil change will likely remove alot of the break-in sludge from your new engine. So changing the oil a little before 5000 nbd. Even the dealer told me they would do it at 5000 +/- 1500 mi.
btw, I got APR chipped same day! OMG the A3 is a rocket !

Yeah, im at 4200 and I would love to have the dealer do my oil change but i just work so damn much and my dealership isn't the closest. Ill have some time over christmas to have it done but till then looks like ill just have to top it off. damn gorwing up is a bitch sometimes! haha.

If doing oil changes yourself, the Schwaben oil filter drain tool from ECS works great. I also purchased the set of "triple-square" drivers, and had already spent more at Sears then ECS charges for Torx sockets. Do you think these and a VAG-COM tool will work on a Rascal when I need one? I love working on my cars - only time I get to play with hardware now that I'm in Management.

Yeah, I'm going to break down and buy the oil drain tool before my next oil change. The last time it got a little more messy than I like, but it is very very easy to do yourself. The oil filter canister is up front on the bottom of the engine with easy access.

That is a good option. What do you guys use to lift your car up so that it is stable enough. I would love something that is not too expensive but where a car won't fall on my head! I'm assuming you'd want all four wheels off the ground?

I first had mine changed at about 2800, ordered the Pentosin & a magnetic drain plug from ECS.

I'm also thinking about the drain tool so I could do them myself, but my next one's free from the dealer.

You can get a simple pair of jackstands, as long as your jack can go that high.Couldn't you do itwith only raising the front? Is there a cheaper way?

Also, I know a few guys whosay Mobile 1 is well wortha few more $$.
