Ok so i am going to buy Blind Spot Mirror Glass for my B5. I just wanted to know:
1 can i remove the glass that is there and replace it?
2. If you can does anyone know how to remove the glass?
thanks a lot. im going to be getting this today or tomorrow so your help would be great
here is a picture of it, i have been waitting to find this for a very long time and hopefully its easy to replace the old glss with the new

Rear-view mirror[/align]Removing and installing rear-view mirror[/align]
Mirror housing
â—†Can be removed from door without dismantling entire rear-view mirror Mirror adjuster unit [/ul]
â—†Remove mirror from door before removing adjuster unit. [/ul]
‒To remove, lever off mirror glass, unplug electrical connectors for mirror heater, unscrew cross-head bolts -6- and take mirror adjuster unit out of mirror housing -1-. [/ul][/ul]
Note:
â—†On vehicles with a seat memory, the door trim has to be removed before removing the mirror adjuster unit. [/ul]
Door subframe
Hexagon socket-head bolt
â—†12 Nm [/ul]
Seal
â—†When installing, make sure seal is seated correctly. [/ul]
Cross-head screw
â—†1 Nm [/ul]
Mirror glass
‒Use special tool 80-200 (assembly lever) to unclip mirror glass.
‒Protect top and bottom of mirror housing from damage with fabric-backed adhesive tape.
‒Lever off mirror glass at the bottom first, then at the top. [/ul][/ul]
‒To install, enter mirror glass into guide stud and friction finger into friction spring, and press on.
‒Always use protective gloves, and only exert pressure at centre of glass. [/ul][/ul]

â—†When installing the mirror glass, friction finger -8- must be inserted into friction spring -9- in housing. [/ul]

you dont need that at all just move the mirror so you can get a finger in there and then slowly gently pry it out then carefully pull the 2 clips off because if youre not carefull both ends will come off the mirror.
