New Air box water guard design (PICS)
First Ill start this out by saying props to beermod and anyone else that had a had in the original design, I just made it my own.
I live in FL and it rains and gets flooded streets a lot so I need a bit more security than a screen. Plus I didnt want to dig around for my hole dril bit, when my trusty razor blade was in hand.
I found this vent at HD and you could make 3 mods from it (if you cant find it Ill send you one for $5 to cover shipping.
I used high temp/strength hot glue to get it on there and a few strips or weather striping. The fins are facing so if water were to splash up from the wheel well it would hit them after getting thur the screen and drain back down. (in theroy). Seems like it will flow a lot more air then swissing it outplus it would most likly bea smoother air stream. Sounds good with the stock paper the k&ns on its way. Took me about 30-45mins.
Today I fixed my melted check valve, seafoamed, cleaned the MAF sensor, and installed new plugs. I have to say I like this wagon a lot its got plenty of power now... (was in limp mode since I bought it a week ago)
Enjoy!

looks good. as for the k&n, if your worried about it betting oil on your maf, just leave it sitting out of its packaging for a day and you'll be all set. I've got ~5000 miles on mine and no problems so far.
I plan on wiping it down as best I can and blasting air thru it to get as much oil out. If it does mess it up its nobig thing to pull and clean it. Once we get some flooding here Ill test it out and check the box.

I was'nt going to hit it with 150 psi. Just the amount that wot would creat. But Ill go ahead and just let it sit for a few days. Thanks.
