Default Why spend 1g on ko4 when you can get a GT28R?

Ive found prices for gt28rs around 800 - 1000 and ko4s around the same price. So why get a ko4 in that case?

Variation in cost of supporting mods would be my only guess.

Just throwin' it out there.

k04 is ~700, gt28r is ~850. tuning is 300 more for the 28r, and you also gotta buy injectors, tip, and a fmic. so there's still like an $1000 difference between them.

you can get away with using your stock clutch (depends on a few factors), as well as not using a fmic with a k04. both aren't ideal, but can work ok. so thats another $1-2k in savings.

I get your point though, and I agree.

The way I look at it the ko4 and pc-16 act as a stepping stone for those who dont want to spend the money on the gt28. With the pc-16 you need turbo, injectors, FPR, Tunning, exhaust and FMIC. When you want to go bigger you've got all the right stuff inline.

Mainer, with a bigger turbo you need new tuning and new injectors.

you'll need bigger injectors and new tuning. granted you can sell the injectors and tuning for close to the how much the new stuff costs, you might as well buy the gt28r the first time. if your buying enough for a pc-16 k04, its only a couple hundred more for a gt28r.
