Default 1997 audi a6 quattro xml8100 install

I have been trying to install a new radio, xml 8100 In place of the factory Delta radio. I have it all wired as the radio and the harness seemed to say but still have no sound from rear speakers. Also, the faceplates I ordered online for the audi don't fit the radio so it moves side to side some. Any help would be appreciated

do you have Bose? did you get the correct harness? Did you plug the "power on" harness on the aftermarket harness so the head unit will power on the amp to actually feed all speakers?

from what I have read, the delta cc radio does not have the bose system, I could be wrong. I bought the harness that is supposed to be correct, I checked several places before I bought it. I will have to check if the power on is connected to the right part, I just saw it the other day but it has been a long week. Thank you for your help.

Ok, so I have the blue power on from my aftermarket radio attached to the blue harness wire, which is attached to the white wire from the OEM radio. I am still getting nothing from the rear speakers, nothing has changed.

which wire harness are you using?
this is the wire harness you need: Metra Part # 70-1785 | Volkswagen VW wire harness | Audi wire harness | Metra Online
also make sure you connect the blue wire correctly based on the instructions: http://www.metraonline.com/files/pro...NST70-1785.pdf

I used the same harness on mine and had 0 problems...

I have the 70-1787 harness, this is the one metra said was right for my 97, it looks virtually the same as the 1785 aside from the amp harness being red. I am now running into a different issue. There is still no sound from the amp, I attached the blue wire coming out of the smaller harness to my blue one from the new radio (as the directions said) and got nothing. Then I thought maybe I had to connect the blue one from the other harness as well. So I connected all three wires, still nothing, until I turn off the car and take the key out, the main speakers shut off and the rear ones turn on for a second or two, then shut off. I tried the connection with only the larger harness' blue wire and got nothing as well. Any thoughts?
