Default How to test the clutch on manual a4 b7 06?

http://videobam.com/YybQy

This video shows the issue i have, but im not sure it is the clutch because the revs go up when i press the accelerator to a certain threshold, with any gear. Lets say im driving in 3rd and once i press down the accelerator around 50% the revs go crazy and no actual acceleration. If im going on gear 6 and while driving press the pedal down around 50% same thing happens(like you see in the wid).
In the video im holding it at that threshold, so the revs go up(speed is not increasing) then they go down for a second or two(i gain a little speed until the revs shoot up again). This started happening all of a sudden and now overtaking quickly is basically imposible. I have vcds with vag. But not too sure on how to test this particular issue with it. Any help would be much appreciated.

yea, your going to want to go ahead and never make it do that again. youre making the clutch slip like crazy when you do that and im surprised you even made it home with it like that.
you need a new clutch ASAP!
from my research it seems like clutchmaster is the best for our cars, but i am still in the research phase and havent upgraded yet so maybe someone else can chime in who has a bit more experience

Well its holding up quite well, been driving with this for 2months now, and its not getting worse or better.
Im not fixing it yet because im hoping its not the clutch.
Not too sure what you mean by clutchmaster.
P.S. can the fact that ive been driving like this for around 2months without any worsening indicate that its something else?

Hi. Has to be a clutch issue as it's the only thing that connects the drive from the engine to the gearbox. When I say clutch issue, the actual clutch plate could be worn or even contaminated with oil, which would both cause the slip you are experiencing.
Could also be a sticking pressure plate but either way it's gearbox out to investigate.

Thanks for the info. Would you say that changing the flywheel with the clutch is a bad idea ? The millage is 128k, no idea if it was changed at any point and the gears seem to change ok, apart from gear 3 which sometimes shows a bit of resistance.

Changing the flywheel is never a bad idea, however they aren't cheap.
Is your vehicle a petrol or diesel? If it's a diesel I would prob change it as they are Dual mass flywheels which are prone to failure.

Clutch/pressure plate issue. Would replace the flywheel also. VAG won't help with this issue.
